Dear NYLS Community,

New York Law School classes and academic programs are cancelled today. However, the Law School building will be open regular hours, and the Library will be open‎ for study from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Substantial snowfall and high winds are expected from a Nor’easter headed for the region. The storm is due to peak midday. NJ Transit and MetroNorth have already moved to reduced schedules.

If you had a mid-term scheduled for today, your professors will be in touch with you about exam make-up dates. All classes and programs scheduled for tomorrow, March 8th, are expected to occur as planned.

For staff, although the campus is accessible, thank you for making your best efforts to work from home.

Dear NYLS Community,

As many of you know, the National Weather Service is forecasting a winter storm beginning tonight (Tuesday, March 6) and continuing tomorrow (Wednesday, March 7). Although precipitation will begin as rain, it is expected to change to snow, with a projected total of six to 12 inches, by tomorrow night.

If the storm occurs as forecasted, NYLS will likely cancel classes and events tomorrow and may close campus. We are monitoring the storm’s progress and will announce any cancellations or closures by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Dear NYLS Community,

I hope you are safe and warm. The storm has caused significant traffic and transit disruptions throughout the tri-state area. Although City Schools will open, many of our community members live in the counties surrounding the five boroughs and the conditions are not expected to be clear or easy. Accordingly, New York Law School is closing its administrative offices tomorrow and all meetings, and events are cancelled. To the extent staff can work from home, we ask them to do so.

Despite these cancellations, the Law School building will be open for use by community members from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Library will be open from ‎10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bar takers will have access to the NYLS campus but should contact their commercial providers about class schedules. Those students seeking to study on campus should check the NYLS webpage for any potential changes in library or campus operations.

We expect that NYLS will resume normal library and building hours on Saturday, January 6.  Please watch for emails, texts, and voice messages from our NotifyNYLS emergency communication system to ensure you have the latest updates.
