Servicemembers: DFAS is not calling you about your pay

People are reporting a new twist on a banking imposter scam targeting the military. In this latest con, imposters call servicemembers and pretend to be from or working with DFAS (for us civilians, that’s the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, a Department of Defense agency that handles getting pay to servicemembers). NYLS Open Today: Tuesday, February 12, 2019

NYLS is open today as normal. Everyone should exercise caution in traveling to school based on weather conditions. Please monitor our website, social media channels, and NotifyNYLS for any updates. Be sure to check MTA.info and other regional mass transit channels and news reports for the latest weather and transit information.

If faculty are unable to travel to school, they should please notify students of a class cancellation three hours ahead of the start of class. If staff are unable to travel to campus due to weather conditions, they should contact their supervisors directly.

By 3:00 p.m. today, we’ll update everyone on the status of evening classes.

Evening Class Cancellations for Thursday, Nov. 15

Due to inclement weather, all 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. classes on Thursday, November 15 will be cancelled. The L’Express Café and fifth-floor cafeteria will close at 5:00 p.m. However, the building, including the Mendik Library, will remain open and will operate on a normal schedule for the evening. Tomorrow, November 16, normal operations will resume across campus.


Delayed Opening: 10:00 a.m. on March 22

I hope you are safe and warm. Please be advised that due to significant weather related disruptions outside of the city, where many students, faculty, and staff reside, NYLS classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. To that end, all classes and events scheduled before 10:00 a.m. are cancelled and will be rescheduled. The campus and library will open at their normal times. If you plan to take the New York Law Exam tomorrow at NYLS, please plan to leave yourself an abundance of extra time to get to School, or simply plan to take the exam from home if you are concerned that transit delays could affect your being on-time, or cause unnecessary stress before an important exam. ‎

NYLS Closed: Wednesday, March 21, 2018

Dear NYLS Community,

New York Law School classes, academic programs, and administrative offices are closed on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. The Library is closed, but designated study space in the W Building, and the lower level of the C Building, will be available. Substantial snowfall is expected, exercise caution at all times.

If you had a mid-term scheduled for tomorrow, the Registrar’s Office will be in touch with you about exam make-up dates. All classes and programs scheduled for Thursday, March 22nd, are expected to occur as planned, but please check e-mail, text, and nyls.edu regarding Law School operations, as well as other media for any updates to ensure personal safety.
