One lane at a time will be closed on the Lower Roadways of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge on Saturday from 12:01 am until 7 am for preventive maintenance. The work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary. Brooklyn Bridge Saturday lane closures:
- Brooklyn-bound: One of three lanes will be closed from 2 am to 2 pm, and two of three lanes will be closed from 3 am to 7 am.
- Manhattan-bound: One of three lanes will be closed from 1 am to 7 am, and two of three lanes will be closed from 2 am to 6 am.
The bicycle and pedestrian path along the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge will be open this Saturday. The closure originally scheduled for this Saturday has been rescheduled for 10 pm Saturday, May 14 to 5 am Sunday, May 15.
Con Edison will operate free shuttle buses across the bridge every 15 minutes. A second vehicle will be provided to transport bicycles. The Manhattan-bound (north) tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed from 11 pm Friday to 8 am Saturday to accommodate Superstorm Sandy restoration work.
One lane will remain open in each direction in the other tube. Beginning on Friday, Traffic Enforcement Agents will be on duty at the City Island Bridge to assist in the maintenance of vehicular traffic during construction. Traffic agents will be on duty Friday to Sunday from 1 pm to 10 pm and Monday to Thursday from 1 pm to 8 pm until September 9th.
The Bayonne Bridge will be fully closed in both directions from 9 pm Friday to 8 am Saturday. Motorists should use the Goethals Bridge as an alternate. One tube of the Battery Park Underpass will be closed on Saturday from 1 am to 8 am for the restoration of the electrical and mechanical systems damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The West Street Underpass will be open when the south tube (West Street to FDR Drive) is closed. The following streets will be closed on Saturday: * 2nd Avenue between 6th Street and 14th Street in Manhattan will be closed from 10 am to 6 pm for the Middle Collegiate Church 2nd Avenue Festival * Atlantic Avenue between Hoyt Street and Bond Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 3 pm to 8 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks Design Walk * Belmont Avenue between Rockaway Avenue and Watkins Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 1 pm to 6 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks Be on Belmont * Hollywood Avenue between Randall and Schley Avenue in the Bronx will be closed from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks Throggs Neck
The following streets in the Bronx will be closed on Saturday from 10 am to noon for the 38th Annual Run the Bronx: * Grand Concourse between 179th Street and Van Cortland Park Avenue East * Aqueduct Avenue between 181st Street and 184th Street * 181st Street between University Avenue and Aqueduct Avenue * 184th Street between Aqueduct Avenue and Grand Concourse * Hall of Fame Terrace between Sedgewick Avenue and University Avenue
The following streets in Manhattan will be closed on Saturday from 12:30 pm to 1 pm for the NYC Cannabis Parade: * Broadway between 31st Street and 24th Street (east curb lane only) * Broadway between 24th Street and 17th Street (west curb lane only) * Park Avenue between 17th Street and 14th Street * 17th Street between Broadway and Park Avenue The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8 am and breakdown must be completed by 7 pm.
