The previously issued Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8:00 PM tonight. These conditions are dangerous to health. Avoid strenuous activity. Notify NYC – Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Notification issued 7/25/16 at 5:02 PM. The National Weather Service has extended a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Manhattan, Staten Island, and Brooklyn until 5:30 PM. Strong winds & heavy rain is expected. For more info, visit www.weather.gov/nyc. During a severe thunderstorm, be prepared to potentially lose power. Charge cell phone batteries, gather supplies, & turn refrigerators/freezers to a colder setting. Always stay clear of downed power lines. If you are affected by an outage, turn off all appliances & keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed to prevent food spoilage. Do not use generators indoors. If you lose power & have a disability or access needs or use Life Sustaining Equipment (LSE) & need immediate assistance, dial 9-1-1.

 


Notify NYC – Planned Aircraft Flyover

Notification issued 7/22/16 at 7:17 PM. Weather permitting, on Saturday, July 23, the Army Golden Knights will be parachuting over Yankee Stadium in The Bronx as part of Military Appreciation Day. Between 2:40 PM and 3:20 PM, a Fokker F27 aircraft will make four passes over the stadium, dropping jumpers on each pass.

Cooling centers will be open. In addition, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for New York City for Friday 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM. Notify NYC – Planned Aircraft Flyover

Notification issued 6/27/16 at 3:00 PM. Two military F-18 Super Hornets will be conducting a planned flyover over the Hudson River on Tuesday, 6/28, at 11:00 AM. The aircraft will be flying from north to south at an altitude of approximately 1,500-2,000 feet.
