Weekend Bridge and Street Closures – July 22-24

One lane on the ramps from 11th Street, 21st Street and Thomson Avenue to the Manhattan-bound Upper Roadway of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge will be closed Saturday from 12:01 am to 5 am for roadway repairs. One lane on each ramp will remain open to traffic at all times.

The westbound (Staten Island-bound) Brooklyn Queens Expressway will be fully closed between Atlantic Avenue and Tillary Street (from Exit 29 to Exit 27) on Sunday between 1 am and 6 am for milling and paving. There will be lane closures eastbound (Queens-bound) on Friday and Saturday between 12:01 am and 5 am; one lane will remain open during those times.

Brooklyn Bridge Saturday lane closures: Brooklyn-bound: One of three lanes will be closed from 2 am to 2 pm, and two of three lanes will be closed from 3 am to 7 am.  Manhattan-bound: One of three lanes will be closed from 1 am to 7 am, and two of three lanes will be closed from 2 am to 6 am.

One tube of the Battery Park Underpass will be closed on Saturday from 1 am to 8 am for the restoration of the electrical and mechanical systems damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The West Street Underpass will be open when the south tube (West Street to FDR Drive) is closed. Variable message signs will alert motorists.

Two out of four northbound lanes on Route 9A/West Street from Chambers Street to Canal Street will be closed from 10 pm Friday to 5 am Monday to facilitate pavement restoration work by NY State DOT.

There will be lane closures Bronx-bound on the Throgs Neck Bridge between 10 pm Friday and 5 am Monday. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic; Queens-bound lanes are unaffected.

The Bayonne Bridge will be fully closed in both directions from 11:59 pm Friday to 5 am Monday. Motorists should use the Goethals Bridge as an alternate.

3rd Avenue between 80th Street and 90th Street in Brooklyn will be closed on Friday from 5 pm to 10:30 pm for DOT Weekend Walks Summer Stroll on 3rd Part 2.

The following streets will be closed on Saturday: * Broadway between 47th Street and 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed from 10 am to 6 pm for the Midtown Community Block Party * 5th Avenue between 12th Street and 18th Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 5 pm to 9 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks South Slope Summer Stroll * 243rd Street between Caney Road and Mayda Road in Queens will be closed from 9 am to 7 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks Rosedale Civic Association * West Burnside Avenue between Davidson Avenue and Jerome Avenue in the Bronx will be closed from 11 am to 4 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks Bronx Summer Walks on Burnside Avenue   The following streets in Manhattan and the Bronx will be closed on Sunday from 5:30 am to 2 pm for the NYC Triathlon: * Manhattan: Henry Hudson Parkway (northbound) between West 57th Street and the Henry Hudson Bridge; West 72nd Street between Riverside Drive and Central Park West; West 79th Street between Riverside Drive and Traffic Circle (near West Side Highway) * Bronx: Henry Hudson Parkway (northbound) between the Henry Hudson Bridge and the Mosholu Parkway; Mosholu Parkway (eastbound) between Henry Hudson Parkway and West Gun Hill Road

The following streets will be closed on Sunday: * Lexington Avenue between 42nd Street and 53rd Street in Manhattan will be closed from 10 am to 6 pm for the Vanderbilt YMCA Lexington Avenue Festival * Liberty Street between Broadway and Church Street in Manhattan will be closed from noon to 6 pm for the Downtown Independent Democrats Festival * Mott Street between Canal Street and Worth Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11 am to 4 pm for the DOT Weekend Walks Asian American Heritage * Northern Boulevard between 68th Street and 90th Street in Queens will be closed from noon to 3 pm for the Colombian Parade * Grand Concourse between East 166th Street and East 181st Street, East 170th Street between Grand Concourse and Sheridan Avenue, and East 167th Street between Grand Concourse and River Avenue in the Bronx will be closed from 1 pm to 5 pm for the Gran Parada Dominicana Del Bronx

The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8 am and breakdown must be completed by 7 pm.
